For this week’s song, I am going back twelve years to 1997. A group called Camp Lo dropped Uptown Saturday Night, a blend of hip-hop, soul and jazz inspired by Blaxploitation movies of the 70’s. One of its most popular tracks was a song called Luchini AKA This Is It.
This is a great “Saturday Afternoon Chill Out” song. The slang heavy lyrics provide many “say what” moments and the beat is one of the best ever.
